Special Blog Hop Highlighting a Fun Fold!

  • Welcome to the Silver to Silver Elite Stampin' Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop for August 2021. We are from various parts of the world and many talented people have contributed their designs and tutorials to help each other showcase Stampin' Up products and highlight our businesses but mainly to bring you fun and creative projects to make yourself. If you came through from the previous link, you will find me with the X name bringing up the end of the train - the caboose! I hope you enjoyed the other projects and I am eager to share mine.
  • My name is Xenia Stanford, the creative designer and owner at Heritage Stamp Arts. I am a passionate scrapbooker, card maker and fun fold diva!
  • I am an independent demonstrator with Stampin' Up! I live in Canada.
  • I created and designed this project myself using Stampin’ Up! products but Stampin' Up! does not endorse Heritage Stamp Arts or heritagestampartsbyxenia
Today I am sharing the instructions for my Christmas tealight mini easel card. I designed it this size to make the most efficient use of the 12x12 cardstock without having to glue two pieces of cardstock together to create the easel.

Basic White 12”x12”: cut at 4”x12” and scored at 4”, 8”

       Vellum: 3.75”x3.75”

Designer Series Paper: 4”x4” and second piece 4”x2”

Red or Green Foil: 3 7/8” square

Basic White: 3.25”x2.25” for greeting, scraps for die cuts

Basic Black: a piece of 4”x2” approx. to die cut all pieces

Instructions:

  1. Cut and score the 4”x12” Basic White making sure the three sections fold flat with one flap inside and one flap over top the other two.
  2. Stamp scene from stamp set on Vellum Cardstock with Versamark ink and heat emboss using the Silver embossing powder.
  3. Lay the 4”x4” designer series paper over the front flap of the Basic White base. Position cloche die in centre of dsp being sure that the end of the flap is the bottom of the cloche. Die cut.
  4. Line up the embossed vellum piece so that It is positioned for embossed image to be completely visible and adhere to front of die cut Basic White flap with bottom of image lined up with bottom of flap.
  5. Position die cut designer series paper over the front flap so that it is lined up over the vellum piece and glue down.
  6. Glue the die-cut cloche shape centered on the middle flap so that it will be upright when card is sitting open.
  7. Die-cut the 4”x2” designer series paper with the rectangle that is approximately 3.75”x1.75” and glue this piece to inner bottom flap so it will be visible when the card stands up.
  8. Stamp greeting onto the 3.25”x2.25” piece of Basic White and die-cut with die from stitched rectangles. Adhere over the rectangle designer series paper using large dimensionals. Line up at least three across the top of the greeting so that it will hold the front flap in place when card is open.
  9. Glue the red or green foil square on the inside middle piece so that it is directly behind the dome.
  10. Decorate card with black tree and white dove die-cuts. Add five red rhinestones to greeting rectangle and rhinestones for doves’ eyes. The rhinestones will pick up the light from the tealight and sparkle. Now you are done and can write your message on the white part above the greeting section to send off to a recipient to add their own battery tealight or use yourself. Enjoy!

This image is of the card with the cloche die cut piece glued to the back centre section.

This is the inside of the card showing the red foil centre section, place for message and the greeting strip and the back of the cloche dome.

I used the red foil for a card with the green dsp and the green with the red dsp but the red foil will work with red dsp as well.

If you live in Canada and don't already have a demonstrator, I would be happy to send you a catalogue and a card! Maybe this card!

  1. I love this card, Vellum is amazing when you can not only emboss on it but you can put a battery tealight candle there to make it look even more special. Well done.

    1. Thanks Tracy. I did one a few years ago with an evergreen tree image but when I saw the new cloche dies and classic cloche stamp set, I had to create a new version! I made this a mini easel as it takes only one 4 x12 inch strip of 12x12 cardstock. That's because I plan to make so many of these!

  2. How beautiful! What a wonderful way to bring more light to our homes in the dark of winter. (I live in Minnesota.)
I'll be making these for my home this year. Thank you for the detailed directions.

    1. They are so easy to make because they only use one 4 inch strip of 12x12 cardstock so no gluing together of two sheets. I plan to make many for Christmas cards this year.
