Stamping with Friends Stand Alone Dies blog hop

For this Stamping with Friends blog hop we are featuring standalone dies

I used the Picture This Dies and the Stylish Shapes Dies, which are both standalone. I created two cards for the guys and one for the gals.

Picture This for Guys!

The Picture This Dies and the He’s The Man Designer Series Paper makes it easy to design a card for a guy. This card comes together very quickly and is sure to delight any man or boy. Maybe even some ladies would like it. Using coordinating designs, you cut out two pieces, and then insert the cutouts into the other frame to give you two cards.

Card base 1: Crumb Cake Cardstock 5-1/2” x 8-1/4” scored at 4-1/4”

Card base 2: Cajun Craze Cardstock 4-1/4” x 11” scored at 5-1/2”

Card 1 greeting section: Basic White 2-1/2” x 1-1/2”

Card 2 greeting section: Crumb Cake 4” x 1-1/2”

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Die-cut each piece of designer series paper using the Picture This Dies

Step 2. Glue the piece of designer series paper with the holes in it onto the cardstock base. Glue the rectangular shapes of one into the openings on the opposite card.

Step 3: Stamp the sentiments using Cajun Craze Ink Pad on the pieces of cardstock for the greeting section and die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies

Step 4: Pop up the greetings and the pre-cut shapes from the designer series paper with dimensionals and glue the wrench shape over the bottom of the Congratulations stamped piece.

Step 5: Tie the linen thread around the back of the Congratulations die cut and tie a bow underneath on card 2. Apply the embellishments as desired. I used the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to the tires on the car.

It’s as easy as that since the pre-cut pieces and designer series paper means only stamping the greeting.

Card base: Poppy Parade Cardstock 5-1/2” x 8-1/4” scored at 4-1/4”

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Place the die with circles from the Picture This Dies on one piece of the designer series paper and die cut.

Step 2: Lay the cut piece over the other to determine which flower will show through. Colour with Poppy Parade Blends.

Step 3: Stamp all the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colour with the Poppy Parade Stampin/ Blends. Colour leaves and stem in Old Olive or another green of your choice.

Step 4: Die cut images that have matching dies. For the smaller circles where using images without matching dies cut the image using the small circle from the Stylish Shapes dies. I also coloured one of the scraps from the dsp showing the flowers that are on the opposite side of paper as shown on the front. I then die cut that with the small circle as well.

Step 5: Glue the piece of designer series paper that has not been die cut to the card base. Layer the die cut piece over top and glue at corners or along the sides (leave the middle portion so you can tuck your coloured and die-cut pieces in.

Step 6. Fill the holes with the die cut images. I used dimensionals on the die cuts from the two small Stylish Shape dies to pop those pieces up on the card. Add the die-cut leaves where you like.

Step 7: Stamp the sentiment on the Basic White Cardstock using Poppy Parade Ink and die cut with one of the Stylish Shape Dies.

Step 8: Adhere the sentiment piece onto the card front using dimensionals.

 Step 9: Embellish as desired.

What do you do with those die-cut circles? As my grandmother used to say “Waste Not, Want Not” You could make another card. I chose to use them on the inside of the card to brighten up and add interest inside. I cut the centre piece for the message from the Basic White Cardstock using

You could cut a rectangle or die-cut another shape to write your message if you don't have these dies.
